Editorial and AI Use Policy

This policy applies to BIO's editorial content as well as the AI assistant. It explains how we select sources, review flagship pages, control product-document claims, and record visual evidence.

• Primary sources first. We prioritize current manufacturer documents, laws and regulations, regulator guidance and databases, standards-publisher records, and original research. Secondary commentary may provide context but must not replace a primary source for a material claim.
• AI assists; people remain accountable. AI may help with drafting, translation, structure, or consistency checks. It may not be treated as the source of a technical, product, regulatory, market, or medical claim.
• Flagship pages receive human review. BIO's editorial team prepares the content and BIO's technical and regulatory support team reviews material claims, source boundaries, and limitations before a page is marked reviewed.
• Current documents control product decisions. Product pages and project advice must be checked against the current official TDS, lot-specific CoA, supplier documentation, and device-level validation. A website summary or older archived document does not override those records.
• Images need provenance. For evidence visuals we record the source, owner or authorization, method, supported fact, reviewer, and last-check date. AI-generated or decorative images are not presented as documentary, laboratory, product, or market evidence.
• Corrections are welcome. Send a source-backed correction to [email protected]. We log the issue, check it against the controlling source, and update the page when warranted.

Review cadence: reviewed flagship pages show a last-reviewed date and are scheduled for re-review at least every three months, or sooner when a controlling source, product document, regulation, standard, or material fact changes.
